Patrick Flowers, Matt Rooney, and Luis Medina react to the Bears’ 25-24 win in Vegas, Caleb Williams’ late-game composure, and Ben Johnson’s growing influence, while also examining concerns about the offensive line and run game heading into the bye.
It’s another Victory Monday on the Bleacher Nation Bears Podcast, presented by Obvious Shirts. Hosts Patrick Flowers, Matt Rooney, and Luis Medina break down Chicago’s nail-biting 25-24 win over the Raiders in Las Vegas and the growing sense that things really are different under Ben Johnson.
Caleb Williams once again showed poise in end-game situations, giving Bears fans a confidence they simply didn’t have a year ago. Johnson’s calm demeanor and in-game adjustments — including tweaks to the offensive line against Maxx Crosby’s relentless pass rush — gave Williams room to settle in and find success, including a growing connection with sophomore Rome Odunze.
The guys also look at some concerns heading into the bye week: the offensive line is banged up and in flux, with questions about Darnell Wright’s health and whether Braxton Jones’ days at left tackle are numbered. Meanwhile, the running game continues to sputter as D’Andre Swift struggles to find efficiency and Kyle Monangai pushes for a bigger role.
